Unit 1: A day in the life off
* Usage:
– Diễn tả một hành động, một sự việc thường xuyên xảy ra hoặc một thói quen.
Ex: He usually gets up early.
– Diễn tả một nhận định, một sự việc ở một điểm hoặc khoảng thời gian hiện tại.
– Diễn tả một chân lí, một sự thật hiển nhiên.
Ex: The sun rises in the East.
– Diễn tả một sự việc tiến hành trong tương lai.
+ Thường đi với phó từ thời gian chỉ tương lai ( tomorrow, next week…) và động từ chỉ sự chuyển dịch (to go, to come, to leave….).
Ex: Nam comes back from the South tonight.
+ Trong mệnh đề trạng ngữ thời gian sau nhưng liên từ thời gian như: when, after, as soon as, until, …
Ex: I’ll stay here until he answers me.
II.ADVERBS OF FREQUENCY
*Các trạng từ chỉ mức độ thường xuyên đứng trước động từ thường và đứng sau trạng từ to be.
– always : luôn luôn
– usually: luôn ( mang nghĩa gần như always nhưng ko thường xuyên bằng )
– sometimes: thỉnh thoảng
– often : thường thường
– seldom : hiếm khi
– never : không bao giờ
– normally:
– occasionally:
Ex: He usually gets up late.
Ex: He is always late for school.
III. THE SIMPLE PAST
Ex1: I visited that pagoda last summer.

Ex2: They built that house three years ago.

* Form :

S + din’t + V0 + …….
Did + S + V0 + ……. ?
* Adverbs of time: yesterday, last + noun, ago, in + mốc thời gian trong quá khứ, in 18th century ….
Ex: Lan visited that pagoda last summer.
VED
* Usage:
– An completed action in the past.
Ex : I met him yesterday.
– When the time is asked exactly.
Ex: When did you do your housework ?
=>I did my homework yesterday.
– An action happened at a definitely period of time even the time isn’t mentioned.
Ex: She opened the door ,changed her clothes and started doing the housework.
– Sometime the time is definited as a result of a question and an answer at the present perfect tense.
– A series of past actions.
– An action suddenly happened while another action was happening in the past
Ex: I was sleeping when he phoned.
– In second-type condition and unreal past tenses ( I’d rather , I’d sooner…)
Ex: If I were a billionaire , I would give each of you $10000
